The 4,700, London 2012 Olympic medals, have been handed over to the London 2012 Organising Committee and are to be kept safe ahead of the Games in the secure vaults of the Tower of London.
The medals, made by mining company Rio Tinto, weigh 375-400 grams, are 85mm in diameter and 7mm thick.
They will remain locked away in the famous vaults until they are needed for the award ceremonies - the first being shooting on the 28th of July. In total there will be 805 award ceremonies that will be held in over 30 London 2012 venues across the UK.
In addition to housing the medals, the London Tower Bridge features giant Olympic Rings that will be seen by many of the 4,000 Kiwis travelling to the Olympic Games to support the 185 strong New Zealand Olympic Team.
