It is particularly important when you have to trek for long time and there are no opportunities to wash your items, or to carry to many spares. Some fabrics, like merino wool for example have bacteriostatic and hypoallergenic qualities. Specialized active fabrics should protect you from being wet during and after exercise. They are constructed to wick the moisture outside.

You may ask yourself if it is worth buying pricy thermal wear or exercise wear if you can possibly perform well in your average t-shirt. Here is the answer. If you have challenging goal in front of you, you don?t need any obstructions to take your focus from it. You need all possible concentration and all energy to reach your physical goal. The more you have distractions the lesser your performance will be.
