Christian Faith Centre, which bought the former Mueller Elementary School building in Wichita after plans for housing there didn't work, plans to turn the building into a private or charter school.
The Wichita Eagle reports church leaders plan to open the building this fall as a day care and preschool. By next fall, they plan to reopen it as the Urban Preparatory Academy of Wichita. The academy would serve kindergartners through fifth-graders, and it would primarily be tailored to African-American children.
The Eagle report has more details about plans for the school.
