NEW YORK (AP) ? Darren Aronofsky will direct a music video from the new Metallica and Lou Reed album, "Lulu."
The Oscar-nominated director of "Black Swan" and "The Wrestler" will produce a video for the track, "Iced Honey." Aronofsky brings his cameraman, Matthew Libatique, to the project as director of photography. The clip will be shot in the San Francisco Bay area and will be available for viewing later this month.
Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich said Thursday that working with Reed and Aronofsky is "living the dream."
And the avant-garde Reed said he hopes the video can be "his Black Swan."
Released Tuesday, the joint venture between the singer-songwriter and the metal band was inspired by German playwright Frank Wedekind. Years ago, the Wedekind play, "Spring Awakening," won the Tony for best musical.
